In 1981, we recognized the need for accessible, economical medical care, particularly for those patients with minor accidents and illnesses not necessarily requiring the extensive services of a hospital's emergency department. The Greenwood Immediate Care opened in July of 1981 and the public responded with enthusiasm. Since that time, additional centers have opened throughout the Indianapolis metropolitan area, and in November 2010, the Immediate Care Centers became a part of Franciscan Saint Francis Health. We now have the privilege of serving approximately 100,000 patients per year in the urgent care setting. Beginning in 2012, Franciscan Immediate Care also became part of the Franciscan Alliance Accountable Care Organization, or ACO. An ACO is a new model for healthcare focused on collaboration. Teams of doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers work together to coordinate and improve care for patients. ACOs focus on providing patients the right care at the right time, resulting in higher quality and lower costs for the patient. We want you to know that Our Mission is to strive for Service Excellence in all we do. This means performing our jobs to the best of our ability with passion, integrity, thoughtfulness and concern for you. We make every effort to exceed expectations in all that we do. For quality, convenient and cost-effective health care, visit any one of our Immediate Care locations today.
